Founded in 1929, the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, OSX) is distinguished as a vehicle for the cultural commitment of the Government of Veracruz and, since 1975, of the Universidad Veracruzana. For many years it has become one of the most recognized orchestras in the country, the result of the efforts of many Mexican men and women of various nationalities, who have recognized in music one of the highest manifestations of the human spirit.
